About The Instructor

High Priestess

Iya J.

Iya J. has studied and trained in many spiritual systems. She is an initiated priestess of traditional Yoruba spirituality to the deities Ifa, Oshun, and Yemowo. She is also a traditional Congo priestess initiated to her personal ancestors and the deity Nsasi. Iya J has over 16 years of spiritual training and 11 years as an initiated priestess. Born in Savannah, Georgia, and raised in the Gullah Geechee low country, she includes much of her cultural background into her spiritual practices. She formally started out as a Hoodoo practitioner, next trained as a Spiritualist in Espiritismo and then progressed from there into priesthood. With over 20 years of Engineering and Software Development experience, she used her skills to develop her very own app called Hoodoo Spirit, which was the first of its kind. She has worked with hundreds of women from around the world, guiding them on spiritual development, womb healing, and connection to the Divine Feminine (Goddess) energy. Iya J. has developed several humanitarian projects to bridge the gap between the Congo and those of the African diaspora. She is currently the Ambassador for the diaspora for the United Kingdoms of Africa Association.
